What the status words mean

Four words do all the work on this site, and the gap between the first one and the other three is the whole point of this page. They are defined here once so a label elsewhere can be checked against a definition rather than guessed at.

Current

This exists and works today. On this site that is a very short list: the MLB paper ledger, the calculators, and the written explainers.

Illustrative demo

A working screen built on invented sample data at a fixed snapshot. The layout is real; the numbers are not, and no price shown is available anywhere.

Preview

A feature that has been designed but not built. Sample values illustrate the shape of the screen. Nothing behind it is running.

Roadmap

An idea that has been thought about. No work has started, no data is being collected, and no date is committed.

Colour is never the label

Every status on this site carries its own text, and the analytic badges carry a shape glyph as well. Nothing here relies on being able to tell neon green from amber, which matters both for accessibility and for anyone reading a greyscale screenshot of this page out of context.

Why some rows have no page

NHL and college sports have not been investigated at all, so there is nothing to write a page about. The four sports that do have pages — NFL, NBA, WNBA, and tennis — each carry a list of gates that would have to be met before the sport could be called a capability. Every one of those gates is currently unstarted.

On the in-play row

The published ledger contains 27 in-play entries, because that is what the experiment did. That is a record of past behaviour, not an in-play product. VigPulse offers no in-play capability, and closing line value is never reported on those rows.

No real sportsbook is named anywhere on this site.
The published ledger does not record which book each entry came from — that field reads Not recorded on all 33 rows.

Book letters used in the demos ("Book A") are stand-ins that correspond to no real operator.
